Finding The Time

Lately I have been finding the time to get my butt in gear and start making more artwork. Also have been experimenting and getting into contact with various artists regarding techniques, methods and products. Sometimes it is the need to get out of your daily routine to realize how important your work is to you, how important being inspired and being an inspiration to many, is to yourself. Sometimes finding time to be inspired is impossible. I saw this when working 18 hour days, maintaining a relationship and looking after that person, taking online courses and trying to dedicate some time to yourself as well. It was draining and unfulfilling, to say none the less. Sometimes money is also the issue. Working in a job where you are working 8-5, making a small income, paying for rent, food and various other cost of living expenses doesn't leave much for other activities. Then there are other things to randomly pop up like a broken vehicle part, insurance and well life in general. There are many things in life which gets in your way of being able to put your inspiration down on paper, a canvas, pottery, in sculptures, knitting, etc. But we must be grateful for what we have in front of us and around us. I recently have become inspired by finding 5 minutes to write down my future artwork projects, writing these other artists, asking questions and making do with the product I have in order to create art pieces. Money is not everything, as much as you hate to accept this fact. Anyway, I found spending time with family inspired me to be acceptable for what I have and also to continue what I love to do and create.....ART! I don't think this is rocket science obviously to you all but I found inspiration also in other's art. I researched my favourite artists, even their quotes.....which they may not have actually said to begin with, their influences.....and I am sure you get the just of it all. As a result, I have been creating various prints, researching more for an exhibition, going to CARFAC workshops, working with other artists within my community to create workshops/programs at my work which not only the community want to take but also myself and of course talking to artists within the community, painting and drawing. All this has made me realize how important it is to find the time to express your inspirations into works of artistic value. I also have found finding the time has pushed me to find even more time to express myself....if that makes sense to you. It is a priority to me more or less. It is an outlet for various reasons too. Whether it is emotional, physical or spiritual, producing art has been a necessity in life, in my life. I know some of you will relate and others will not but I feel most of you will understand the importance of this topic. Anyway, your time is your time and vice versa. Use your time wisely. Find what makes you happy to dedicate your time to it, even if it is just 5 minutes out of your day. Whether it is during breakfast, on your way to work, on your lunch break....or maybe while you are working out. The important thing is to find the time to have our creative outlet expressed. Cheers to you!
