Appreciate of Family and Friends, Plus a Look at Some Art

Well as I sit here recovering from a dental surgery, I got bored and decided it was a great opportunity to get to write again. Although my writing may not be the best of the best, I still find it encouraging to write something for the few readers out there that may read this. I have been rather busy, finding myself working three jobs once again sadly but I dedicate my weekends to my art works/projects. Some people find this discouraging as I would rather create my pieces then spend money on something, drive hours to go see them and get further behind on projects people have asked me to complete as commissions. It is debatable what is more worth it, time with friends and family or time spent on art work. I am sure you get what I say when it can be stressful especially when there are bills to be paid and we know others will not pay them for us when you live on your own. Still, I appreciate all my family and friends who are patient with me for dedicating my time for projects and time for them. We all make things work for our schedules and I appreciate and adore those people in my life who chose to allow me to do what I do and still stick by me. No guilt trips, no pressure and no comparing by these people....and I am sure you know who you all are! I do not need to name you or give you credit for it either, just a huge thank you and appreciation for sticking by me through my choices on how I dedicate my time and talent. Since moving to my current location, I have met some very interesting people in my journey, as well as some not so interesting. I have also seen some amazing scenes and locations to be inspired by! There is always a bright side to a gloomy side of having a busy life here. Anyway, on with the blog writing. As you have read from my appreciation of people in my busy life at this present time, I am still producing art. Dipping my hands in new areas of materials and slowly but surely completing more and more. My website, http://nmyker.wix.com/artist, has slowly taking shape and it is slowly being added to for the projects I have completed and chose to sell if they are not commission pieces. I think I have more projects on the go then I do have for sale on the website to be honest, haha! Also, coincidently, I have more "ideas" then I do for either projects still being completed and on the website....sigh, the brain of an artist never shuts off completely. With all that being said, here is one project I have completed:

Stormy Nights

12 x 9"

Recycled Glass on Wood Panel

2016

I posted an unfinished picture of this particular piece the last time I was working on my blog page here. Now that it is complete, it is also for sale. Please contact me for more details. Also, a happy commissions client received her new painting as well this past month back in Manitoba! I could not be happier for her to finally receive it from her journey and travelling to be at home to receive it when it was delivered.

Golden Journey

24 x 12''

Acrylic with Metal Leafing on Canvas

2015

After all this activity, I am still happy to be able to produce my projects on my spare weekends and days available to myself. I love being able to put a smile on other's faces and in their lives with my talent. Art is a part of me and myself a part of art.

I wish you all a happy summer!
